THE SEX LIVES OF PUPPETS

by Ben Keaton and Mark Down

 

We are looking for a puppeteer to join the cast of The Sex Lives Of Puppets for a tour in Denmark and USA in November 25 and January/ February/ March 26.

The Sex Lives Of Puppets is a puppet theatre show written by Mark Down and Ben Keaton, inspired by the National Survey of Sexual Attitudes and LIfestyles. In it a series of puppets tell stories in the form of mock interviews about their sex lives. The puppets are operated by two people at a time, one working on the hands and the other on the head and bum. The puppets sit on a table. The style is super realistic documentary/ verbatim theatre. 

 

The role involves being on stage throughout the show, operating puppets, puppeting signs that introduced the characters, and performing on the head - ie the voice - for one of the puppet monologues. 

 

You will need to have acting experience, especially comedy. Puppetry experience might be a bonus but is not necessary. You will performing physical acting and puppetry, working closely with the rest of the cast. You will need to be a fast learner. 

Due to US visa restrictions you will need to have no criminal record, drug record, or have had a US visa refused before.

10 - 22 November - TOUR in Denmark

 

2026

20 Jan - 2nd March - TOUR USA
